About Us

Felt by millions.
Believed by few.

Period pain.
One of the biggest blind spots in healthcare.

Women deserve better health outcomes, and we are committed to changing that. Women’s health has been chronically underfunded, under-researched, and undervalued. This injustice has left an innovation gap that too often compromises care.

Our journey begins with menstrual health not only because it affects over 80% of women globally, but because it remains one of the most underrecognized and undertreated health issues in modern medicine. It is a
chronic condition with a long-term psychological impact, and leaves millions to suffer in silence with no support or long-term relief.

We are Melio-days.

Melio means to make better in Latin, and days symbolize the days of our lives.

Our vision is clear.
We want to create a world where women have a say in our health and access to innovative, research-backed solutions
designed by and with women, not just adapted to us.

Better days are coming.
Meliodays.

MelioOne® represents our first step toward that vision. We’re on track to begin nonclinical development in 2025.

MelioOne® is being developed to:

  • Provide a hormone-free option to period pain management

  • Deliver a sustained, low dose of Celecoxib locally for up to two years while reducing systemic exposure compared to oral painkillers

  • Build on the benchmark of existing IUD platforms with decades of widespread clinical use

  • Address prostaglandin-driven inflammation at its source in the uterus

SEE HOW IT WORKS

Our journey began with a simple question:
“Why isn’t there a better solution for period pain?”

Conversations with friends, colleagues and women in my life revealed the same story: frustration with existing options and a quiet resignation that suffering with period pain was just part of being female. The more I listened, the more I realized how under-recognized and stigmatized period pain still is. When I asked my brother Benjamin, a gynecologist, why nothing better existed, his response was plain: “If men had periods, this would’ve been solved already”. That moment crystallised my mission.

I founded Meliodays on the belief that we can build a different kind of solution. One that’s rooted in science, accountability, and informed by women’s lived experience. Alongside Benjamin, Martin, and the rest of the team, we are building a new period pain solution because period pain is a result of systemic neglect, and it only ends when we build better.
